• Ages: 0–5 years old
Play2Learn Early Childhood Family Classes is led by Kelly Owens Vincentini, P2L Owner/Teacher. Classes are taught by qualified professionals and loving parents. Play2Learn was born in 2017. The program offers weekday and weekend classes, as well as summer offerings, and all camps are held outdoors at various area parks. Play2Learn also offers the Play2Learn Podcast, which provides “playspiration” and resources for caregivers during the early childhood years, including interviews with experts in the fields of parenting and education.
According to the program’s mission statement, early childhood is described as a critical period for brain development, with about 85% of brain growth happening in the first 3 years of life, and the family classes include age-appropriate structured and unstructured play. The founders state that they wanted to meet and socialize with other parents in the community while their children were busy playing.
Parent testimonials describe a reserved child who began participating in songs and story time and interacting with other kids, and they describe the class atmosphere as nurturing, with a 5 out of 5 rating. Another parent reports that summer camp was organized with a mix of surprise and predictability, and that their shy children talked about it afterward, also rating it 5 out of 5. A third parent, whose child receives early intervention services, states that Play2Learn has played a role in the child’s developmental progress and describes the teachers as knowledgeable and intuitive about different learning styles, again giving a 5 out of 5 rating.
