YMCA Camp Kenan Overnight Camp Programs include activities such as archery, climbing towers, swimming, ropes courses, hiking wooded trails, singing around the campfire, team building activities, rock climbing, and snowshoeing. Campers take part in these activities as part of overnight camp sessions and leadership development programs.

• Schedule: Traditional Camp is a 6-day, 5-night experience; Mini-Camp is a 4-day, 3-night experience; Explorer Camp is a 3-day, 2-night session; the Leader-In-Training (LIT) program is a two-week program; the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program is a three-week program
YMCA Camp Kenan offers Traditional Camp for ages 7–15, Mini-Camp for ages 6–15, and Explorer Camp for ages 6–11. The Leader-In-Training program is for ages 14–15, and the Counselor-In-Training program is for ages 15–16. LIT participants must be available for both weeks of the program and remain at camp during the weekend stay-over, and CIT participants must be available for all three weeks and remain at camp during the weekend stayover of their program.
YMCA Camp Kenan is accredited by the American Camp Association, which recognizes camps that meet standards focusing on health, safety, and program quality. Overnight camps are required to be permitted to operate by the New York State Department of Health and are inspected twice yearly. Additional staff are certified in First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding, and receive training specific to camp program areas such as archery and the high and low ropes course. A Health Director lives on site, and the health center is equipped to care for temporary illness.
Seven acres of land were originally acquired by William R. Kenan in 1924, when the first camping season began, and today YMCA Camp Kenan has over 53 acres and attracts hundreds of campers and their families each year. YMCA Buffalo Niagara, founded in 1852, is the second-oldest YMCA in the United States and one of the oldest institutions in Western New York. YMCA Buffalo Niagara is a charitable, community-based, nonprofit organization committed to providing programs designed to build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, and allocates $1.6 million each year to ensure equitable access for all in the community. The Y serves the Western New York community with five wellness centers, two overnight camps, and over 40 child care locations.
