About
Fancy Feet Dance Studio offers dance and gymnastics, with students also taking part in dance recitals. The studio also hosts dance and gymnastics birthday parties at all of its studios.
• Schedule: Class and party options are available on weekdays and Saturdays during afternoon and evening hours.
• Price: “The best part is in the past 12 years my children have been dancing there ticket prices have only been raised $1.”
Fancy Feet Dance Studio is celebrating 45 years of quality dance and gymnastics instruction. The director has forty-three years of teaching experience, forty years in business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance, drama, and theater, and trains every instructor in her philosophy and style of teaching. Students are taught by a professional teaching staff trained with the Fancy Feet teaching philosophy. The studio offers a free trial class, a variety of dance classes, and Dance Company opportunities for serious dancers, including a Children’s Dance Company with an award-winning competition track record as National Dance Champions.
According to its mission statement, Fancy Feet’s mission is to nurture a love of dance and gymnastics at every level—recreational, competitive, and professional—and to build a caring, family-like community where children and adults express themselves and grow with confidence. The mission statement also says that classes blend strong technique and artistry with fun, inspiration, and support, and that students gain self-confidence, resilience, respect, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. The mission statement notes that the studio offers dance and gymnastics birthday parties at all studios and that proceeds from the annual recital benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
Fancy Feet highlights that students learn in a fun, loving, and positive environment and have Broadway-style dance recitals, and that it is the only studio in the Bronx that puts on seven full-scale recital productions in two weekends, with each show described as the highest quality entertainment. The Children’s Dance Company has performed in Walt Disney World (July 1998, July 2003, 2009, and 2015), on an in-house national sales video for Capezio, on Norwegian Cruise Line, on the TV show “30 ROCK,” at Lincoln Center, at Rucker Park for two half-time shows weekly for EBC, at the Barclay Center, at Montefiore Children’s Medical Center and Blythedale Children’s Hospital in 2014, for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, at a Madison Square Garden half-time show, in a Wyclef Jean video “My Girl,” and was invited to perform at the 2012 Olympics. Dancers from Fancy Feet have been accepted to professional programs such as Joffrey, Alvin Ailey, LaGuardia School of the Arts, and Talent Unlimited.
Fancy Feet instructors give back to the community by donating their time and expertise to local schools, and the proceeds from the annual recital benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Testimonials from parents describe Fancy Feet as a second home for their children, note long-term participation in multiple dance recitals, and praise the teachers, the environment, and the experience at the studio.
