Wiz Kids Summer Camp offers activities that include Football, Track, Soccer, Karate, Basketball, Art, Dance, Math Enrichment, ELA Enrichment, Painting, Cooking, Gameroom, Nature Walks, STEM Class, Fitness Authority, Passport to Manhood, Sisters in Action, Study hall, Tutoring, Mentoring, College tours, and High school tours. The camp is divided into a co-ed Sports Camp that offers a variety of sports and a co-ed Day Camp that offers a variety of classes. Participants in the Sports Camp train and learn the fundamentals of each sport and take part in a culminating Olympic week where teams compete, while participants in the Day Camp engage in interactive and teambuilding activities focused on the entire child.

Throughout the summer, Wiz Kids Summer Camp offers camps for sports training and academic development. All Wizkids student-athletes are required to meet scholastic and behavioral requirements in school before they can play ball, and report cards and progress reports are checked regularly as part of the Wizkids curriculum. The program serves over 550 children annually, has worked with over 1300 students, and reports that most of these students have gone on to post-secondary institutions. Clarence “Mugsy” Leggett, who began his journey to being a community leader following a successful professional and collegiate basketball career, founded Wiz Kids in 1990 as a small basketball recreation program in the Bronx, and in 2001 the Books B4 Ball Organization/Wiz Kids Basketball Program settled in the Northeast part of the Bronx. The program’s mission is to improve the quality of life for student-athletes in the community by increasing educational opportunities and assisting student-athletes in achieving a secondary education with the support of sports and mentoring. Wiz Kids also runs a community initiative called Wiz Kids Love Day with the theme “We LOVE to give Back, Building the Community One Mind at a Time,” and the program motto is “Respect All, Fear None.”
