STREB Kids Classes and Camps offers activities including trampoline, flying trapeze, PopAction, BabyAction, Little Kid Action, Kid Action, Kid PopAction, Kid Trampoline, Kid Fly, Fly Team, Advanced Fly Team, Teen/Tween Action Club, aerial, circus arts, dance, athletics, boxing, rodeo, and stuntwork. Kid PopAction combines dance, athletics, boxing, rodeo, circus, and stuntwork, and kids explore impact, velocity, and gravity. Flying trapeze activities have an age limit of 5 to 85 years old, with a height limit of no taller than 6′ 2″ and a weight limit of 225 lbs maximum, and participants must be at least 5 years old to do flying trapeze or trampoline activities.

• Schedule: Fall 2026 semester runs for 12 weeks from September 14–December 17, with classes offered on weekdays and Teen/Tween Action Club sessions on select dates.
• Price: Baby, Little Kid, and Kid PopAction – $500 per 12-week semester; Kid Trampoline – $625 per 12-week semester; Kid Fly – $625 per 12-week semester; Fly Team – $750 per 12-week semester; Teen/Tween Action Club – $25 per session.
During the Fall 2026 semester, Monday classes include Trampoline for 5–7 years (3:45–4:30 PM), 7–10 years (4:30–5:30 PM), and 11+ (5:30–6:30 PM), Little Kid Action for 3–5 years (3:45–4:30 PM), Monday Fly Team for 5+ years (4:00–5:30 PM), and Kid Action for 5–7 years (4:30–5:15 PM). Tuesday classes include BabyAction for 18 months–3 years (9:30–10:15 AM), multiple Little Kid Action options for 3–5 years (3:45–4:30 PM and 4:45–5:30 PM), Kid Action for 5–7 years (3:45–4:30 PM), Kid Fly for 5+ years (4:00–5:00 PM), Kid PopAction for 5+ years (4:45–5:30 PM), and Advanced Fly Team (5:30–7:00 PM). Wednesday classes include BabyAction for 18 months–3 years (10:00–10:45 AM), Little Kid Action for 3–5 years (3:45–4:30 PM), and Kid Fly for 5+ years (4:00–5:30 PM). Thursday classes include Kid Action for 5–7 years (3:45–4:30 PM), Little Kid Action for 3–5 years (3:45–4:30 PM), Kid Company at 4:30 PM, Kid Fly for 5+ years (4:00–5:00 PM), and Fly Team (5:30–7:00 PM). Friday classes include Kid Advanced (4:00–6:00 PM) and Kid Fly for 5+ years (4:00–5:30 PM). Teen/Tween Action Club has upcoming dates on September 25, October 16, November 6, and December 4.
Classes are led by STREB’s Action Hero team under a “personal best” philosophy, and Kid PopAction is described as adaptable for all skill levels, encouraging every child to test their abilities, confront fears, and discover new ways to move through space. The Teen/Tween Action Club allows participants to explore PopAction, flying trapeze, trampoline, aerial, and circus arts through classes, performances, and hands-on experiences. Espańa-STREB Trapeze Academy (ESTA) is described as a signature program, and the program uses motto-style phrases including “We dance, you sweat.” and “Flying and crashing worldwide for more than 40 years.”
Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and change for class, remove all jewelry and watches, remove or tape piercings, secure hair back, and wear form-fitting clothing that covers the back, abdomen, and area behind the knees, without zippers or buckles, and be barefoot for class. Any student under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class, and every participant must fill out a waiver, with a specific option and naming instructions when it is completed on behalf of a minor. Families are welcome to take photos and videos during class when it does not interfere with the flow of class.
STREB was founded as a performing and touring company in 1979 and has been described as “flying and crashing worldwide for more than 40 years.” In January 2003, STREB moved into its current home and transformed it into the STREB Lab for Action Mechanics (SLAM), and with support from the City Council, the Mayor’s Office, and the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office, the company purchased SLAM in November 2007. STREB Kid programming receives major public support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, Harkness Foundation for Dance, William Talbot Hillman Foundation, Howard Gilman Foundation, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York City Council, New York State Council on the Arts, and many other funders, and SLAM is described as a hub for bold experimentation, hands-on learning, community participation, and a gathering place for kids, dancers, gymnasts, circus artists, and the surrounding community.
The program’s leadership includes founder and co-artistic director/choreographer Elizabeth Streb and co-artistic director Cassandre Joseph, who has been Creative Director of the STREB Kid Company since 2010. Elizabeth Streb received the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Award in 1997, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1987, a Brandeis Creative Arts Award in 1991, two New York Dance and Performance Awards (Bessie Awards) in 1988 and 1999, and a Doris Duke Artist Award in 2013. A New York Times quote by Claudia La Rocco describes STREB’s performers as “flipping, tumbling, leaping marvels” who perform “one arduous feat after another.”
