STREB Kids Programming

STREB Kids Programming includes Kid PopAction, Kid Trampoline, Kid Fly, Tween/teen Action Club, One-day camp (Veterans Day), and Summer Camp. Kid PopAction uses Elizabeth Streb’s signature technique and focuses on impact, velocity, and gravity. Kid Trampoline covers trampolining with a twist of the PopAction technique, Kid Fly teaches Flying Trapeze skills with trained instructors, and Tween/teen Action Club includes trapeze, trampoline, PopAction moves, equipment, and games on the floor.

Programs

• Kid PopAction — 18 months – teens · $500 per month · Elizabeth Streb’s signature technique. Kids build strength, coordination, and confidence while exploring impact, velocity, and gravity. Guided by STREB’s “personal best” philosophy.
• Kid Trampoline — 5+ · $625 per month · Introduces the fundamentals of trampolining with a twist of the PopAction technique.
• Kid Fly — 5+ · $625 per month · Kids ages five and up develop their Flying Trapeze skills at their own pace by trained instructors.
• Fly Team — $750 per month
• Tween/teen Action Club — 10+ · November 6, 2026, 7:00-9:00PM; Upcoming dates: October 16, November 6, December 4 · $25 per session · Opportunities to fly on the Trapeze, jump on the Trampoline, and explore some PopAction moves with equipment and games on the floor.
• One-day camp (Veterans Day) — 5-14 · November 11, 2026, 9:30AM-4:30PM · $175 per day · Full day of action at SLAM. Activities include POPACTION, TRAMPOLINE, & FLYING TRAPEZE, games, and obstacle courses.
• Summer Camp — 3+ · Stay tuned for 2027 camp information.

• General schedule: Fall semester classes run September 14 – December 17, 2026. Registration will open on July 22, 2026. STREB Kids Classes closures follow the NY Public School system in cases of emergency.

About the provider

STREB was founded in 1979, and SLAM was established in Brooklyn in 2003. STREB LAB FOR ACTION MECHANICS (SLAM) is described as an international laboratory for action and creativity, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds into a space built for experimentation, exchange, and community. Elizabeth Streb is a MacArthur “Genius” Award-winner, and STREB received the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation ‘Genius’ Award in 1997. STREB Kids programming is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, Harkness Foundation for Dance, William Talbot Hillman Foundation, Howard Gilman Foundation, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York City Council, New York State Council on the Arts, and general operating support from many funders.

All payments are non-refundable. Class reservations can be rescheduled up until 24 hrs before the class. STREB offers need-based scholarships and payment plans for semester classes and summer camps. Classes can be purchased online or by calling (718) 384-6491. To register for certain programs, email [email protected] with student’s name, date of birth, and a callback number. Payment of $175 for the Veterans Day camp must be made in full to reserve a spot; no deposits.
