About

World Martial Arts Center Youth Programs offers HapKiDo, Tai Chi, meditation, Korean kickboxing and self-defense, and other martial arts classes for children and teens. The program also includes chess, foam sword fighting, and educational games such as Cash Flow by Robert Kiyosaki and Brain Yoga. Children can take part in outdoor classes, indoor classes, and live online virtual classes seven days a week.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Children’s classes available seven days a week, with general facility hours of 11:00am–9:00pm on weekdays and 10:30am–3:00pm on weekends

All youth classes are taught by certified HapKiDo instructors with assistants. The instructional team includes ten female instructors, eight male instructors, three female Masters, two male Masters, and a Grandmaster, with average instructor experience of 10–20 years, Masters with 20–30 years of experience, and a Grandmaster with over 45 years of experience. Two-thirds of the instructors are parents or grandparents of many of the students. The Grandmaster holds an 8th Dan Blackbelt in Hapkido, Jujitsu, and Tae Kwon Do, and is a master-level meditation and Tai Chi teacher. The school is sanctioned by the World Professional Hapkido Federation and the Korean Hapkido Federation.

World Martial Arts Center Youth Programs offers seasonal and day camps, including summer, winter, and spring camps, as well as day camps when school is out. Their camps and afterschool days include activities such as learning and playing chess, learning about money, playing educational games like Cash Flow and Brain Yoga, and foam sword fighting. The afterschool program for the 2025–26 school year includes school pickup, homework help, chess, and martial arts, and an afterschool day includes homework help, chess mastery, and martial arts classes. The program also offers a one-month trial special with a free uniform, and beginner memberships that include a free uniform, a 166-page Beginner’s Handbook, a quick start beginner’s guide, access to the WMAC mobile app 24/7, multiple digital training programs and video libraries, recorded classes, and access to open training, in-person classes, and live virtual classes seven days a week.

According to its stated mission, the Master at the World Martial Arts Center focuses on guiding students to discover their talents and turn those talents into skills, and on guiding students to get the results they want. The World Martial Arts Center is sanctioned by the World Professional Hapkido Federation and the Korean Hapkido Federation, has received over seven proclamations from the city of New York, and is a six-time winner of the AMS National Top Ten School Awards. The center serves families from Prospect Park, Lefferts Garden, Flatbush, Midwood, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Boerum Hill, and surrounding neighborhoods.
