Green Chimneys Summer Camps

Green Chimneys Summer Camps offers dynamic summer camp programs that include hands-on environmental learning, nature study, and care of rescued animals. Campers take part in outdoor adventures and environmental learning experiences that are also offered to school groups through student trips. Activities are based on a nature-focused model that includes interaction with over 300 farm animals, horses, and unreleasable wildlife, as well as a wildlife center with non-domesticated species such as eagles, hawks, and owls.

Green Chimneys Summer Camps are part of a multi-faceted nonprofit organization whose mission is to help young people maximize their full potential by providing residential, educational, clinical, and recreational services in a safe and supportive environment that nurtures connections with families, the community, animals, and nature. The camps are accredited day camp programs and are supported by certified teaching staff, with a high staff-to-student ratio and an 8:1:2 student to faculty to teaching assistant ratio. Green Chimneys includes an accredited special education school on two campuses and is recognized as a worldwide leader in animal-assisted therapy and educational activities for children with special needs. The broader organization was founded in 1947 and has grown from a 75-acre dairy farm to 550 combined acres that include farm, garden, and outdoor adventure spaces, such as an organic farm and gardens and a Model Forest that promotes learning and best practices in forest management and water conservation. Green Chimneys is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, and its leadership includes Chief Executive Officer Kristin Dionne.
