She earned her USDF gold medal in dressage and has competed on the A circuit in hunter, jumper, and equitation. As a junior rider, she worked at Sag Pond Farm in Bridgehampton as a trainer and assistant barn manager and volunteered in a local therapeutic riding program. She competed on the IHSA hunt seat teams at Randolph Macon Women’s College and SUNY Morrisville, where she was hired as an adjunct professor before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in equine studies. Canterbury’s story begins in 1999, when the Asher family purchased the property, and Canterbury Stables opened for lessons, boarding, and training in August 2002. The program states that it offers a premium riding experience with a warm and welcoming professional staff and outstanding lesson horses, with individual lessons tailored to rider goals from lead line to Grand Prix in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
