They have offered before- and after-school programs since 1993. The mission of Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need support most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Their programs provide kids in Northern Orange & Sullivan Counties a safe place to learn and grow alongside caring, adult professionals and offer life-enhancing programs, and they provide vital lifelines to families in Orange & Sullivan Counties. They turn no children away due to a lack of financial security, offering generous scholarship opportunities and sliding-scale payments for all families, and their programs are among the most affordable for families in the region. They provide Club Kids with healthy meals and snacks daily at no cost to help address increasing poverty and food insecurity levels in their communities.

Every member of the team undergoes annual criminal background checks and annual fingerprint clearance from New York State. Every member of the staff meets the standards set forth by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and is fingerprinted and cleared by the NYS Statewide Central Register Clearance System. Every staff member receives annual national criminal background checks pursuant to Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) standards, and each program site has at least one staff member who is CPR and First Aid certified on duty at all times. Every program that serves youth under the age of 13 in a before- or after-school setting is licensed through the Child Care Council of the home county, in accordance with the NYS Office of Children and Family Services’ regulations, and all Summer Day Camp operations are licensed by the NYS Department of Health. Safety for Club Kids is the highest priority for all staff, volunteers, and Board members.

One parent shared that, as a single mother, she would not be able to make life work without the Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club Programs and staff, and that she always knows her son is safe and in the best hands. She said the care and attention her son receives at the Club laid the foundation for her family to build a home life that would not otherwise be possible, and that his mentors and peers at the Club have helped him build and grow his life and relationship skills.
