Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club has offered before- and after-school programs since 1993. The organization’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need support most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. It provides kids in Northern Orange & Sullivan Counties with a safe place to learn and grow alongside caring adult professionals and offers vital lifelines to families in Orange & Sullivan Counties by turning no children away due to a lack of financial security, with generous scholarship opportunities and sliding-scale payments for all families. To address increasing poverty and food insecurity levels in the communities, it provides Club Kids with healthy meals and snacks daily at no cost.

Every program that serves youth under the age of 13 in a before- or after-school setting is licensed through the Child Care Council of the home county, in accordance with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations, and all Summer Day Camp operations are licensed by the New York State Department of Health. Every member of the team undergoes annual criminal background checks and annual fingerprint clearance from New York State, meets the standards set forth by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and is fingerprinted and cleared by the New York State Statewide Central Register Clearance System. Every staff member also receives annual national criminal background checks pursuant to Boys & Girls Clubs of America standards, and each Program Site has at least one staff member who is CPR and First Aid certified on duty at all times.

One parent shared that, as a single mother, she relies on the Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club programs and staff, feels that her son is safe and in good hands, and credits the care and attention he receives at The Club with helping her family build a strong home life and supporting her son’s life and relationship skills.
