JMU 4 Kids Camps & Events offers a variety of summer camps and vacation camps. Vacation camp is offered during the December, February, and April breaks at All Saints Academy.
JMU 4 Kids Camps & Events has been offering child care in the Capital District since 2005. The program was founded in 2005 by Joe Urschel and his wife, June Urschel. This is Joe’s 31st year directing summer camps, and he previously directed the summer program at a local private school for 10 years before starting this camp business. Their daughter, Jessica Urschel, assists in the day-to-day operations of the summer programs, both on campus and with bookkeeping and administrative work.
All summer camps operate under a permit from the County Health Department and are inspected at least twice during each summer. Each location has a full-time Health Director or an Assistant Health Director on duty. Adults at the camps have Red Cross CPR and First Aid training. All workers undergo background checks per the County Health Department. Joe has a B.S. in Economics from Union College and an M.S. in Educational Psychology from The College of Saint Rose. The stated goal of JMU 4 Kids is to provide a safe, secure, fun, enriching experience for kids and a convenient, affordable, reassuring option for parents.
