About
Syracuse Children’s Theatre offers instruction and performance in audition preparation, dance and movement, music, and scene work. Through its focus on musicals, the program combines acting with dance and song, and every class or camp culminates in a production at the Civic Center - Carrier Theatre.
• Ages: 4–17 years old
• Schedule: Semester-long classes and one- and two-week school break camps throughout the year
Through Syracuse Children’s Theatre’s instruction and performance, students in Pre-K through Grade 12 learn the fundamentals of theatre, including audition preparation, dance and movement, music, and scene work. The program has been a theatrical training ground for the children of Central New York since 1999 and has operated as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Syracuse Children’s Theatre is led by Todd Ellis, Founder and Executive Director, and Kellie Ellis, Associate Director. Its stated mission is to always strive to give children a very positive and rewarding experience. As Associate Director Kellie Ellis describes it, “SCT is a fun place where kids and teens discover the magic of theatre, explore their talent and create lasting friendships.”
