About

Syracuse Children’s Theatre offers year-round musical theatre classes, February and April Break Camps, and Summer Camp. All courses culminate in a production or public performance, and productions take place at the Civic Center - Carrier Theatre.

Programs

  • SCT Musical Theatre Programs / year-round classes — Pre-K through Grade 12 · Spring and Fall classes are semester-long; February and April Break Camps are week-long during school breaks; Summer Camp has five two-week camps
  • Fall Semester Classes — Pre-K through Grade 12 · Weekend classes begin mid-September; younger students Pre-K to Grade 1 meet Tuesday or Thursday nights for 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Spring Semester Classes — Pre-K through Grade 12 · Classes start in mid-January; younger students Pre-K to Grade 1 meet Tuesday or Thursday nights for 1 hour 15 minutes
  • February/April Break Camps — Grades 1 to 9 · Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm over February or April Break
  • Summer Camp — Grades 1 to 12 · Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; five sessions; two-week camp sessions start at the end of June and run through late-August
  • Summer 2026 Classes — Grades 1 to 12 · Summer camp classes are 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a performance on the final Friday of camp
  • Fall 2026 Classes — Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 · Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 1 Tuesday or Thursday 4:00-5:15 p.m. or 5:45-7:00 p.m.; Grades 2-12 Saturday 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Saturday 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., or Sunday 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

About the provider

Todd Ellis is the Founder and Executive Director, and Kellie Ellis is the Associate Director. The theatre has served children in Central New York since 1999, and Todd Ellis says it has been 25 years.
