About

The Junior Golf Program includes chipping, putting, driving range practice, use of the Lake Isle golf course when available, and exercises. Participants also spend time on golf trivia, learning the rules and etiquette of golf, score keeping, and watching golf educational content such as YouTube, golf current events, and additional golf trivia.

• Ages: 7–16 years old
• Schedule: Summer camps run from June 2 through August 30, with options to attend weekly or daily, and additional Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoon sessions; campers can choose 3-hour or 6-hour sessions for ages 9–16, or 2-hour sessions for ages 7–11.
• Price: If registration occurs within 4 days of the next weekly camp start date, a $25.00 late registration fee is added; payment reserves the spot and there are no refunds.

PGA interns working toward their PGA status typically run the summer camp programs, assisted by staff, and Kevin Chin is an award-winning PGA Certified golf professional and instructor. The mission for junior golf and all golf programs is to create a safe and fun learning environment through instruction, practice, and a variety of individual and team activities, with the stated goal of enabling and inspiring students to reach their full potential as responsible, honest, and self-confident people. Junior programs accommodate any level, junior groups may combine or overlap with different age groups, and there is a Counselor in Training (CIT) Program for ages 13–16. In the event of inclement weather, up to approximately 25% of lesson time may be spent on indoor material such as putting, learning rules and etiquette, score keeping, and watching golf educational content, and classes may be canceled or held under a canopy, with canceled camps able to attend another group to make up the time, while missed days on a family’s own are not eligible for makeups or credit. Programs run unless families receive a text or email cancelation, and notices are typically posted on the website as well, and there is a snack bar that accepts cash and credit cards, but transportation is not provided.

Most of the staff are former participants in the programs and/or students of Kevin and are typically high school age, and groups taught by Kevin include 2 to 4 students and run for longer periods than most of the other programs, giving him flexibility to cater to individual goals. Programs are open to the public, and gift certificates are available. Kevin Chin is an award-winning PGA Certified golf professional who has been voted Best Golf Professional 4 out of the last 5 years and received the 2019 PGA Deacon Palmer Award. Families are advised that bringing their own equipment is suggested, but equipment is available to borrow, all equipment and clothes should be labeled with the child’s name, no open-toed shoes are allowed, the Lake Isle dress code of no jeans and no tee shirts applies except in winter, camp is held in light rain with advice to dress appropriately, there are indoor activities during bad weather, and for winter classes families are asked to use the covered stairs rather than the hill, keep cars out of the upper lot, and inform the program of any medical issues including allergies such as bees or peanuts.
