Creative Environment Day School offers hands on activities, educational games, outdoor activities, creative arts, arts and crafts, nature experiences, daily swimming, and outside recreation. The program also includes dedicated homework time as part of its daily routine.

Creative Environment Day School was founded in 1966 and is celebrating over 50 years of education as a family owned business. The program is dedicated to the safety, welfare, and education of all those who come through its doors and continues Sheila C. Brittain’s original concept of a safe, loving, educational place for young minds and bodies to grow. The day school program is designed for children 18 months to 4 years 9 months, and an 8 week summer camp serves children 18 months to entering 5th grade with daily activities. The before and after school program caters to students from all three Fayetteville-Manlius elementary schools. The mission of the school is to provide a safe and enjoyable early learning experience in which children can “Expect the Best” each and every day.
Classrooms at Creative Environment Day School are equipped with age-appropriate toys, books, and educational materials. The program offers an academic based curriculum with small class sizes and low child to teacher ratios, and it is open for extended hours and most holidays. The curriculum uses Play To Learn Preschool, is centered around hands on learning and creative and meaningful play, and includes a wide range of thematic units that each classroom teacher can cater to current classroom needs. Play To Learn encourages development in literacy and language arts, math, science, art, music, and dramatic play, with lessons for learning the alphabet, colors, shapes, and more, and lesson plans are created with each specific class in mind. The leadership team includes Founder Sheila C. Brittain and Director Ashley Karkowski.
