Kweller Prep Tutoring and Educational Services is a 15-year established, accelerated supplemental educational program with a time-tested record of success in preparing students for specialized middle-school, high-school, college entrance, and graduate school exams. The program was developed and founded by Frances Kweller, an attorney-at-law and daughter of immigrants, who graduated from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education and Hofstra University School of Law, is a member of the NYS Bar Association, and is a member of the National Association for College Counseling (NACAC). The leadership team includes Frances Kweller and CEO and General Manager Ben Davidov, who joined Kweller Prep in 2014, graduated from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business on a full scholarship, and is a former SAT, Regents, and AP student and decade-long employee at the program.
Kweller Advanced Test Preparation was developed by an attorney, and nearly every tutor at Kweller Prep is the first in his or her family to attend a specialized high school or top university on a scholarship. Class sizes are limited to 10–12 students, and the program participates in flex spending and dependent care (Dependent Care FSA) for eligible services such as summer day camp, after-school programs, and childcare. Kweller Prep sells over twenty high-quality textbooks on Amazon.
The program states that its mission is to guide students to advance to higher education, including placing them in highly competitive environments and building their careers, to identify early talent, and to focus on holistic learning approaches that place its students on track for success, with a rigorous program designed for ambitious students. Kweller Prep is certified as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), is a licensed vendor for the NYC Department of Education, is a member of the National Afterschool Alliance, and is an accredited learning services provider candidate with the Middle States Association.
Kweller Prep is a proud supporter of many diversity initiatives and outreach programs throughout New York City. Company founder Frances Kweller launched the First in Family Fund, a 501C3 nonprofit, and the program partners with various alumni groups, including the Stuyvesant Alumni Association, to offer discounted SHSAT prep services. Kweller Prep is a longtime supporter of inclusivity programs geared towards helping students gain entry into screened and specialized high schools, and its webinars and workshops provide expert knowledge on how screened and specialized schools create academic pipelines that lead to scholarship opportunities and top college acceptances.
One parent from Woodside, NY, reports that their son took a Hunter prep class at Kweller Prep and was accepted to Stuyvesant, and describes a “Public School to Ivy League” Zoom workshop as informative and helpful. Another parent from San Francisco, CA, describes Kweller Prep as offering many free webinars about colleges, scholarships, and financial aid and notes that their questions were answered quickly. A parent from Wall Street, NY, calls Kweller Prep “the test prep to take for SHSAT, SAT” and notes that owner Frances Kweller explains where cutoff scores are and why.
