Programs at Soccer Friends USA cater to children from 18 months to 14 years old and include specialized all-girls soccer classes for girls aged 4.5 and up. Travel teams, under the name Queensborough United Soccer Club, offer competitive soccer for boys and girls aged under 9 to under 18, with participation in leagues and tournaments across the Tri-State area and professional coaching with comprehensive training sessions. All classes are kept to a good coach-to-child ratio, with small class sizes and coaches always available to communicate with parents before and after each class, and all classes are kept to a good coach/child ratio. Coaching staff includes trained soccer experts, parents, teachers, and early childhood education graduates.
The program’s mission is to create lifelong enjoyment of sports through fun and engaging soccer programs. Soccer Friends USA is involved in the community through its presence at PS 144’s After School Program and its contribution to the Forest Hills community.
Families are asked to bring their own drinks, and there is no eating permitted during class. Children should not bring their own toys into class, must wear closed-toed shoes with no flip-flops, crocs, or slip-on sandals, and a free T-shirt is provided at the first class and should be worn to each class; if a child wears glasses, they should be shatter proof. No make-ups are offered except in case of rain events.
One parent notes that their son and daughter have participated in individual classes, summer camp, a U10 Travel Team, and a futsal league and describes the administration and coaches as skilled, well-organized, responsive, and passionate about developing children and providing high-quality soccer programs to boys and girls of all ages and skill levels. Another parent reports that their children have taken Soccer Friends USA classes for a combined total of eight years, describing the Directors and Coaches as kind, supportive, and nurturing, and the classes as well-run, fun, and staffed with plenty of coaches per child, and expresses appreciation for the program’s contribution to the Forest Hills community. A representative from the PS 144 P.A. Board states that Soccer Friends is a consistently high performing class in the school’s after school program, winning rave reviews from parents, being loved by students, and remaining in high demand because the classes keep kids very happy and engaged. A parent commenting on the mommy and me soccer for toddlers describes the methods for toddlers to learn as easy and says the children have a great time.
