About
Soccer Friends USA offers soccer programs that include a Futsal Academy, summer soccer camps, all-girls soccer classes, after school programs, competitive travel teams, private classes, and mommy and me soccer for toddlers. Classes for children between ages 2 and 4 follow a set routine that includes a welcome chant, warm-up, skills section, a BIG GAME, story and recap, a closing chant, and stickers.
• Ages: 18 months–14 years old
• Price: Pro-rated refunds are given up to the 4th class
The mission of Soccer Friends USA is to foster a lifelong enjoyment of sports through fun, engaging, and educational soccer programs. The coaching staff includes trained soccer experts as well as parents, teachers, and early childhood education graduates. The program offers all-girls soccer classes for girls aged 4.5 and up, and its travel teams, Queensborough United Soccer Club, offer competitive soccer for boys and girls aged under 9 to under 18 with professional coaching and comprehensive training sessions. Private classes are available and provide individualized coaching in a familiar and friendly environment, and coaches are always available to communicate with parents before and after each class. Small class sizes with excellent coach-to-child ratios are a stated feature of the program, and a free T-shirt is provided at the first class and is expected to be worn to each class.
Families are asked to bring their own drinks, and there is no eating permitted during class. Children are asked not to bring their own toys into class. Closed-toed shoes are required, and flip-flops, crocs, or slip-on sandals are not permitted because they can easily come off and are described as a safety hazard. If a child wears glasses, they should be shatter proof. No make-ups are offered except in case of rain events.
Parent and school feedback includes comments that children have participated in individual classes, summer camp, U10 travel team, futsal league, and after school classes, and that these offerings have been described as well-organized, with plenty of coaches per child. Testimonials also state that Soccer Friends USA has been part of PS 144’s After School Program, where the classes are described as high performing, in high demand, and well liked by students and parents. One parent specifically notes appreciation for the mommy and me soccer for toddlers and describes the learning methods as easy for young children. Another parent comment states that the directors and coaches have been kind, supportive, and nurturing, and mentions an invaluable contribution to the Forest Hills community.
