World Awareness Children’s Museum Summer Camp includes activities such as making their own messy and imaginative pieces of art, playing music, exploring the city of Glens Falls, and being a pirate. The program takes place at the World Awareness Children’s Museum Summer Camp and uses the museum’s interactive, hands-on exhibits and collections in its activities.

The World Awareness Children’s Museum has been a NYS Designated Charter Museum since 1995, and its mission is to bring a diverse world to children. Its permanent collection includes over 7,000 pieces of original children’s art and over 8,000 artifacts such as fashion, musical instruments, dolls, toys, and other objects, which are featured in the museum’s hands-on learning space and used in educational programs. The museum’s artifacts collection is available online, and programs are written to NYS curriculum standards for individuals of all ages, with tailored programs offered at the museum or at external sites. The museum also offers an International Youth Art Exchange Program with over 7,000 pieces of original children’s art from more than 81 countries, as well as discovery guides, passports with collectible stickers, and a sensory kit that can be checked out from the front desk for parents of kids with sensory issues. The website for the museum was made possible through funding from the City of Glens Falls and the Greater Glens Falls Local Development Corporation.
Parents have shared that their children have enjoyed the museum’s activities and exhibits at a range of ages, including favorites such as the Japanese tea room and themed birthday parties using the museum’s collections, including a Nesting Dolls theme using the Russian collection.
