International Riding Camp

International Riding Camp offers girls ages 7 to 17 English riding disciplines, beginner riding, polo for beginners, horse shows, and optional additional riding time. The program schedule includes 3 hours of riding daily, with an option to ride for 6 hours a day, and the daily schedule also includes riding lessons, water skiing, tennis, swimming, stable management, arts and crafts, and evening activities.

• Mother-Daughter Week — One week; check in Sunday before 12:00pm and check out after lunch on Friday; 3 hours of riding daily · $5,520–$7,000 per week · Mother and daughter can spend a week together.

About the provider

International Riding Camp was established in 1978. It is accredited by the American Camping Association, and its mission is described as a unique equestrian camp experience for girls who love horses and riding.

• Additional riding time — $2,000–$14,000 per week · Optional extra 3 hours of riding each day.
• Bring your own horse — $425–$2,975 per week · Students wishing to bring their own horse may do so.
• Camp Horse Shows — During each two week session; Friday just before the end of the session; 10:00am · $175 · Open only for campers.
• Recognized Horse Shows — Every weekend · $995–$5,970 · Optional activity.
• Polo for Beginners — Maximum of two polo sessions a week, weather permitting · $300–$1,800 · Learn the basics of polo on a polo field.
• Piano Lessons — One week includes three lessons · $300–$1,800 per week · Available for a limited number of students each week.
• New York City Trip — One day trip during each two week session · $995–$1,500 · Ride in Central Park.

Maximum of 45 campers in any session; maximum of 5 students in each class; students must pass a riding skills test to go on the cross-country course or trail rides; beginner riders receive private lessons in a small round riding ring; all counselors certified in Wilderness 1st Aid and CPR for Professional Rescuer.
