French Woods Festival Performing Arts Summer Camp

French Woods Festival Performing Arts Summer Camp offers activities in music, art, theater, dance, circus, magic, horseback riding, sports, fitness programs, and a wide range of waterfront options. Campers can take part in acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, song-writing, radio, music production, DJ work, and forming bands that can record in a state of the art recording studio. The program also includes skateboarding, tennis, climbing wall and sky bridges, a challenge course with a 500 foot Dual Zipline and a 3-sided climbing wall, a miniature railroad, a slot car track, model rockets, cooking, and many different visual arts such as drawing, painting, woodworking, ceramics, screen printing, fiber arts, leathercraft, jewelry, graphic design, game design, and studio art. Theater, ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, modern dance, flying trapeze, silks, lyra, web, cloud swing, close up magic, sleight of hand, stage illusions, and card magic are also part of the program, along with English and Western riding, trail riding, jumping, dressage, water-skiing, swimming, sailing, canoeing, wind surfing, a floating trampoline, banana boat, and other lifetime sports and fitness programs.

French Woods Festival Performing Arts Summer Camp is a co-ed sleepaway performing arts summer camp for children aged 7 to 17. Campers can focus on one particular area or choose a variety of activities through an individual choice model, and younger campers have additional guidance and supervision. Older campers can participate in community service and legacy projects in addition to college prep courses. The camp produces more than 80 full-scale theater productions every summer in five theaters and offers what it describes as the largest and most comprehensive children’s circus training program in the world. French Woods Radio is carried over the internet so friends and family can listen, and campers can run the show as DJs at nightly dances. Skateboard camp includes a beginner area for one-on-one or group instruction and challenging courses for skilled skateboarders. The program states that it celebrates diversity and provides a safe environment for children to try new things and is internationally recognized as a premiere program in the performing arts. Highly qualified equestrian instructors teach lead line work for beginners and progress to trail riding, jumping, and dressage, world class coaching provides instruction in lifetime sports and comprehensive fitness programs, and dynamic and accomplished professional instructors provide tennis instruction. Older campers can also take part in community service and legacy projects.
