About

NCPAL Elmont offers a range of activities that include arts and crafts, baseball, basketball, dodgeball, Double Dutch, flag football, golf, kickball, lacrosse, martial arts, and tumbling. The program is part of a larger organization that focuses on both team and individual programs for boys and girls in Nassau County.

In 1940, under the direction of Nassau County’s first Police Commissioner, Abraham Skidmore, the Nassau County Police Boys Club was formed, and over 80 years later the mission remains the same. The mission of NCPAL Elmont, as part of Nassau County PAL, is to operate youth clubs and provide sports, crafts, educational and other programs of a team and individual nature for all boys and girls in Nassau County regardless of race, religion, income, or disability, with activities intended to prevent juvenile delinquency, steer children away from gang activity, and aid in positive interaction between police officers and youth. NCPAL operates 31 units in over 40 communities throughout Nassau County, with all funds raised staying in the community. NCPAL is considered one of the largest Police Activity Leagues in the nation, with 20,000 youth participating in its programs annually, and it has the largest Special Needs Unit in the nation. NCPAL receives no funding from any municipality, including Nassau County, and 100% of its funding comes from donors.
