For over 30 years, Double H Ranch has provided outdoor Adirondack adventures for children living with a serious illness. The Double H Ranch, co-founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman, provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families living with chronic and serious illnesses. Over 80,000 children have visited the camp, and all programs are provided at no charge to children and their families. Double H Ranch is a member camp of the SeriousFun Children’s Network, a non-profit umbrella organization with a community of 30 camps and programs worldwide serving seriously ill children and their families.
The leadership team includes Alison Wilcox (CEO), Jacqui Royael (Vice President of Operations), Maura Mack Hisgen (Vice President of Development), Kurt Bramer (Facilities Director), and Chris Woll, MD (Medical Director).
Former campers share that “Double H Ranch changed my life in more ways than one. The experiences I had at camp, and the connection I made, will forever be in my heart,” from Jessica, a camper. Another camper, Stefon, says that Double H Ranch gave him the freedom as a little boy to be confident in himself and that the spirit of camp is something he can never let go. Erica G. from Binghamton, NY, describes Double H Ranch as her home away from home, says she has it tattooed on her, and encourages parents who are considering bringing their child to attend, adding thanks to the counselors for their encouragement and love.
