About

StagED Summer Theater Camp focuses on the many theatrical skills required to produce a musical, including singing, acting, and dancing. Campers take part in enrichment activities such as classes in music appreciation and song analysis, improv workshops, storytelling, movement, and teamwork. Each session is a day camp that concludes with two public performances, and each camper receives two complimentary tickets and a commemorative T-shirt.

• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Weekday day camps in July and August 2026, with one-week and two-week sessions that run Monday–Friday between 9AM–4PM (Littles Camp runs 9AM–3PM)
• Price: Kids Camp $450 ($400 before May 1st); Littles Camp $250 ($200 before May 1st)

The 2026 sessions include Shrek the Musical KIDS (two weeks), Let’s be Pirates: Littles (one week), Once Upon a Mattress: Youth Edition (two weeks), and Seussical KIDS (two weeks). Let’s be Pirates: Littles is described as a special one-week introduction to theater that is intended to spark the imagination of the youngest performers and grow the next generation of theater-loving kids through playful creativity and confidence-building games. In Let’s be Pirates: Littles, students explore storytelling, movement, and teamwork while creating pirate-themed scenes and sketches, leading to a fun final-day showcase where families can see their children perform. Public performances for the other sessions are scheduled at the end of each camp, with evening and afternoon showtimes listed for each production.

StagED Summer Theater Camp is led by a team that includes Timmy Goodman (Lancaster Opera House Choreographer and area dance instructor), Rebecca Kroetsch (Lancaster Opera House performer and music educator in Williamsville Schools), Lisa Miller (Lancaster Opera House performer and educator at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf), and Tina Reisdorf (music educator in Williamsville Schools). The mission of the Lancaster Opera House is to provide a venue for shared community involvement and to produce and present quality entertainment opportunities for artists and patrons. The Lancaster Opera House serves the greater Western New York community through educational opportunities, partnerships with local arts organizations, and by providing a gathering place for a variety of social functions.
