The Real Madrid Foundation was founded in 1997 and is the social arm of Real Madrid C.F. Its mission is to express the solidarity commitment of the Real Madrid Foundation through social initiatives, preserve the club's historical heritage, promote the inherent values of sport as its main asset, and promote the integral education of children and youth, as well as the social inclusion of the most vulnerable. The Real Madrid Foundation develops projects with social and formative purposes based on nine key values: Leadership, Self-Control, Humility, Fellowship, Effort, Teamwork, Respect, Tolerance and Solidarity.
Camp staff includes Real Madrid Foundation coaches, Spanish coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation, Licensed Assistant Coach Directors traveling from Spain, and local coaching staff. An official Real Madrid Foundation Coach is the Coaching Director of every summer camp, and a Camp Coordinator is on-site to make sure operations run smoothly. The total staff to player ratio will never exceed 11:1 and usually averages under 8:1.
Real Madrid was honored by FIFA as the “greatest football club of the 20th century.” Real Madrid Foundation soccer camps gather around 3,000 players every year in the USA, with camps offered in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Virginia, Delaware and Ohio. Real Madrid Foundation soccer camps are made possible by a partnership with Akinji Inc. Participants of Real Madrid Foundation clinics in the USA are able to take part in a program at Real Madrid Sports City in Madrid, Spain, where values such as teamwork and respect are worked on during the Madrid experience sessions.
Campers must bring a packed lunch every day, and the camp provides water and ice all day. After registration, every player receives a link to order Real Madrid Foundation uniform kits, which include shorts, jersey and socks; uniforms are not included in the registration fee and are delivered to the address chosen by the purchaser, with shipping starting after April 1. Families are asked to fill out the allergy section if a child has any medical conditions. One testimonial shared about the club states, “I’m not Madridista from the heart because it stops one day. I’m Madridista from the spirit, because the spirit lasts forever.”
