Ryu's Martial Arts Taekwondo offers traditional TaeKwonDo that includes basic stretching, kicking, and blocking. The program also offers TaeKwonDo Camps and TaeKwonDo Birthday Parties, and students learn 5 School Codes: Respect, Perseverance, Self Control, Humility, Honesty. Tae Kwon Do in this program is described as a nonviolent art and system of complete body exercise as well as being a way of life, including physical techniques, mental discipline, and a deep philosophy.

Ryu's Martial Arts Taekwondo school states that it provides a safe and fun environment where education, fitness and developing a positive mental outlook are priorities. The Tiger Kids program is for ages 4–6 and focuses on confidence, attention span, following instructions, balance, gross motor skills, and basics of traditional TaeKwonDo. Children’s Classes are for ages 6–10 with classes divided by belt level, Junior Classes are for ages 11–15 offering traditional TaeKwonDo for any skill level, and Adult Classes are for ages 16 and up with a flexible schedule. TaeKwonDo Camps coincide with school holidays and vacations and are open to anyone ages 6 and up, and TaeKwonDo Birthday Parties are available for ages 4 and up, with the school taking care of everything except the cake. The program is currently accepting new students and offers an introductory lesson. The stated goal of the school is to teach respect, discipline and self-control to build confidence and self-esteem.

Grand Master Kyung Wan Ryu leads the program as Grand Master. He has over 30 years of experience in the practice of Tae Kwon Do and has been teaching students martial arts for over 20 years. Grand Master Ryu holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, is a Kukkiwon Certified Instructor, and is an active member in the tri-state Hong Ik association and an organizer of the Hong Ik tournament, held at Queens College each year. He is Vice President and Tournament Host for the Hong-Ik Taekwondo Association, Vice President of the Greater NY Taekwondo Association, and was named Nassau County Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year 2021.

The school notes that it serves the Valley Stream and Rockville Centre communities. One parent, Dylan Podlinski, reports taking classes there for over 7 years and describes the staff as wonderful, helpful, fun, and keeping students excited to learn Tae Kwon Do. Another parent, Dariusz Kolakowski, states that his kids have been attending for 3 years, that they enjoy it, and that the instructors are really nice and teach very well. Sean Kelly describes being invited for a private lesson for his daughter, says she loves it and that the instructors are fantastic, and highly recommends the school. Nicola Lynch describes the establishment as talented and compassionate and highly recommends it. A parent identified as E.J new york mom states that she was looking for a real Korean Taekwondo master, that her 7-year-old and 6-year-old daughters attend and love it, and that she plans for her younger son to join when he is old enough. Another parent, Abigail Athanasopoulos, reports that her son has been a student for a year, that he loves it, and that the instruction is top notch, and highly recommends the school for all ages.
