Grace Early Childhood and Grace Above & Beyond are ministries under the direction of Grace Church. The program offers Two's Club, Nursery and Pre-K academic classes, an enriched curriculum, an Above & Beyond full time program, full time care in a home-like atmosphere, a before and after school program, and field trips and speakers. All staff are CPR/AED certified, and the team includes qualified faculty and experienced assistants; all clergy, staff members, and volunteers are Safe Church certified through the Diocese of Long Island. The program is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, is a member in good standing of the National Association of Episcopal Schools, and is a member of the Child Care Council of Nassau, Inc. The mission statement explains that Grace Early Childhood and Grace Above & Beyond offer a development and learning atmosphere where children explore, discover and learn, with age-appropriate programs and a caring, dedicated, and experienced staff committed to the growth of each child. The mission statement also states that the program presents learning opportunities in stimulating, diverse, and fun ways so that children leave feeling confident and well prepared for school, and that it provides a community of love, acceptance, and appreciation for the unique qualities with which each individual has been endowed by God. The Grace community states that, as children of God, they are directed to love their neighbors as themselves, and that through the Church, Jesus Christ gave a redeemed community in which the gospel of love is nurtured and proclaimed. The mission statement further notes that Grace is committed to providing the highest quality care in a setting where each child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development will be embraced, and that parents and teachers are viewed as the most important mentors in a child’s life, working together to enhance each child’s learning and development. The community involvement statement notes that Grace Episcopal Church, along with the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island, is committed to maintaining an environment free of abuse of children and youth and of sexual exploitation and harassment of adults in its churches, schools, and institutions.
