About
Driftwood Day Camp offers days filled with sports, adventures, and a sense of community. The camp is described as high-energy and overflowing with choices, with age-specific programs and individual experiences for each camper. Its completely rebuilt and renovated campus includes 22 breathtaking acres with state-of-the-art facilities that allow each camper to learn, play, create, and explore.
Specialty staff are assigned to each activity to prepare age-appropriate programming for all ability levels, and staff members come from many backgrounds, including teachers and psychologists. Staff are described as never sitting on the sidelines, and a strong sense of family is noted as helping children feel comfortable. The camp offers door-to-door transportation with air-conditioned buses, and families receive daily emails with information about the camper’s group as well as weekly personal calls from each child’s Group Leader.
Driftwood Day Camp is the only camp named Best of Long Island by the Long Island Press for fifteen consecutive years, including Best of Long Island 2024. It is described in parent feedback as “Best. Camp. Ever.” and “The. Best. Camp. Ever.” Parents’ testimonials highlight the staff, activities, communication, and the experiences of their children, including comments from Phyllis, Donna, Ila, Lindsay, Melanie, Alexa and Matt, Heather, Jared, Stacey and Larry, and others. The program also notes a focus on community engagement.
