Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon Programs

Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon Programs offers an After School Program, Teen Program, Summer Program, Special Programs, Cheerleading, and Dance. The Summer Program includes free breakfast and lunch, T-shirts with registration, and field trips that require the T-shirts to be worn.

Programs

• After School Program — 6-13 years · Mondays-Fridays, 3:00 pm-6:30 pm
• Teen Program — 14-18 years · Mondays-Fridays, 6:30 pm-8:30 pm
• Summer Program — 5-13 years · Weekdays, 8:00 am-4:00 pm · $130 per week · Registration fee: $100. For more than one child in a family, first child is $130/week and each additional child is $100/week.
• Special Programs — 6-18 years · Mondays-Fridays, and some weekends · Cost: See individual program.
• Cheerleading — 13 to 18 years · Offered as a special program; team competes in local and national tournaments and performs at the club throughout the year.
• Dance — 13 to 18 years · Offered as a special program; the Revelators Dance Troupe trains and performs during full benefit recitals.

About the provider

The mission is: "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." The leadership team includes Melvin Campos, Chief Executive Officer, and Halima Penny. The Dream Chasers Keystone Club teen members received BGCA's National Award for Community Outreach, and the Alpha Stars cheerleading program is described as having gained prominence as national champions. The club admits children ages 6-18 of any religion, race, color, national or ethnic origin, and notes that the Revelators Dance Troupe was dreamed of over 30 years ago.

Summer Program applicants: currently closed for registration. For the Summer Program, one child is $130/week and each additional child in a family is $100/week. Special Programs are offered by independent organizations and require Club membership; additional fees must be paid directly to the provider. The club is open to children ages 6-18.
