Progressive Athletic Center offers gymnastics, Ninja, Ninja Warrior, dance, taekwondo, and preschool activities, including a preschool drop-off option. The program also runs Spring Break Workshops that feature The PAC Olympics, gymnastics, Ninja, dance, and preschool drop-off, and it hosts birthday parties and Ninja and gymnastics parties every weekend. Families have the option to take a trial class before full registration.
The PAC describes its mission as “Turning Children into Stars Since 1978” and states that it aims to develop a child’s interest in physical fitness as a daily way of life for children of all ages and abilities. It is described as a woman-owned family business and a staple in the community, and its A+ program is described as highly acclaimed with a sky-high record of happy kids. Under its USAIGC competition team, its teams have progressed to State, Regional, and World Championships. Wendy Cassell is the Head Director and Owner, has a Degree in Physical Education and Early Childhood Education, and has been the proud owner of The PAC for 42 years. Alexis V is the Gymnastics Program Director and Head Coach, with an Associates degree from Nassau Community College, a Biology degree from Binghamton University, and a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from Queens College. Victoria V is the Ninja Warrior Program Director and Coach, with an Associates degree from Nassau Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Neuroscience from Binghamton University, and she graduated from Comedy College; she is also a part-time comedian and is described as passionate about composting and living a life with less plastic and waste. The facility is described as an extraordinary fitness facility with a large variety of programs for children of all ages, and it is noted that the owner’s hair is always a different shade of red.
