Harbor Child Care Programs offers a Fun-Filled Harbor Child Care Summer Program, School-Age Summer Camps, and Before & After School Programs. The programs include options for children from 12 weeks to 12 years old and have supported more than 20,000 children since 1973. Harbor Child Care Programs uses a child-centered approach and provides breakfasts, lunches, and snacks.

Harbor Child Care began in 1973 and has been teaching and caring for children throughout Nassau County for over 50 years. The organization is one of the largest not-for-profit groups dedicated to full-day child care, early childhood, and school-age education on Long Island and was founded by Jill Rooney. Its mission statement is to provide the highest quality instruction and educational care for every child in its early childhood and school-age programs.
Harbor Child Care Programs implements the Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers and Twos, and for Preschool children. Creative Curriculum® is based on developmentally appropriate principles, proven early childhood research, and play as the means for exploration and learning, and it uses an investigative method that integrates science, math, social studies, art, and technology. The daily schedule offers a consistent structure for the development of routines and rituals.
The program follows staff-to-child ratios set by the regulations of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Harbor Child Care Programs states that the health and safety of the child is the top priority and that it adheres to the highest health and safety standards. The program offers a Scholarship Fund to help ease the financial burden on parents.
