Downtown United Soccer Club Programs focus on soccer for youth players. Downtown United Soccer Club (DUSC) was established in 1982. The organization is structured as a 501c(3) not-for-profit entity. Its stated mission is to educate, train, and inspire youth soccer players of all ages and abilities in a positive, respectful, supportive environment, and to foster a community that reflects the diversity of New York City in which children can develop a lifelong love for soccer and realize their full potential as both players and people. DUSC serves approximately 5,000 participants annually in Downtown Manhattan and the greater New York City area. The Executive Director is Kyle Hagenburger. A testimonial highlighted by the program is a quote from coach Marcelo Bielsa: “A good coach is one who helps his players maximize or discover their potential. That is his principal function.”
