Owego Gymnastics & Activity Center offers recreational gymnastics, tumbling, competitive gymnastics, and a competitive team, including XCEL. The program also includes beginning and intermediate gymnastics classes (Diamonds and Advanced Diamonds), boys’ classes (Tornadoes), younger girls’ classes (Bears), preschool classes (Tigers), Parent and Tot classes (Lions), and classes for children with special needs (Kids R Special). Additional activities include Open Gym, Lollipop Kids open gym for younger children, parties, Taekwon Do, Little Ninjas, dance, summer weeks, private lessons, Kids Night Out, Family Fun Days, clinics, and field trips.

• Schedule: School year classes run from September 6, 2025, to June 27, 2026, with classes beginning September 6, 2025; the Center is closed May 22–25 for Memorial Day, with classes resuming the evening of May 26; Lollipop Kids meets 10:30–11:30 am on Wednesdays May 6, 13, 20, and 27 and on Fridays May 1, 8, 15, and 29; Family Fun Day is scheduled for May 9 from 2:00–3:00 pm.

Owego Gymnastics & Activity Center has been serving families in the Owego and surrounding areas since 1964, first as The Girls-Athletic and Gymnastics Club of Owego, then Owego Scamps Gymnastics Club, and now as Owego Gymnastics & Activity Center. The organization is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit with the legal name Girls Gymnastic-Athletic Club of Owego NY Inc, and it states that families may begin at the beginning of any month. The Center reports that it is constantly upgrading, replacing, and purchasing new equipment, and lists items such as a Tumble Trak, uneven bars, climbing rope, horizontal bar, foam pit, vaulting table, spring boards, low and high beams, dance bars, sparring dummy, parallettes, wall bars, spring floor, floor mats, landing blocks and mats, training aids and foam blocks, four inflatables, mushrooms and bucket, and Tumbl Trak ropes.

The Center describes itself as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that promotes social and physical development in the community by providing a variety of gymnastics, fitness, and health-related activities, with a stated goal of encouraging personal growth, leadership skills, self-confidence, positive habits, and a lifelong interest in physical activity. It states that it provides high quality activities in a fun, safe atmosphere and aims to serve all members of the community regardless of abilities or economic status, offering personalized classes for children with special needs, mainstreaming, and scholarships. The Center notes that it offers field trips for organizations such as Head Start and Franziska Racker Center and lists 2024–2025 sponsors including Tioga State Bank, Leon E. Cook Excavating, Tioga United Way, Floyd Hooker Foundation Grant, and Tioga Downs Regional Community Foundation.

The leadership team includes Tara Lounsbury (President), Deb Simmons (Vice President), Christina Brown (Treasurer), Jennifer Schecter (Secretary), and board members Peter Ahart, Erica Bayne, Doc Halliday, Nora Schumacher, Josh Skellet, Sandy Stickler, and Betsy Snyder, with Jana Bowen serving as Executive Director. The Center states that it is not just gymnastics, that it has something for everyone, and that it is a Center for everyone.
