About
Good Shepherd Creative Play is a cooperative preschool where children take part in group play, story time, art activities, music, movement, and circle time. Daily routines can include dialogue, song, finger plays, stories, and flannel board presentations as part of the classroom experience.
• Ages: 2–5 years old
• Schedule: Toddler and preschool class options ranging from 1 to 5 days per week, with sessions between 2 and 3 hours in the morning
Good Shepherd Creative Play is a non-profit organization and a cooperative preschool. The cooperative structure allows parents to be fully engaged in their child's school experience, and an opt-out choice is available for cooperative workdays by paying a predetermined amount to cover some or all workdays in the classroom. Programs incorporate a variety of educational theories and use hands-on, experiential learning. The Time for Twos / Toddlers classes have the stated goal of offering an environment where children and parents can learn and play together. At Creative Play all children are given the opportunity to learn through play. The program offers Creative Creations enrichment afternoon classes in three sessions per year. One morning and one afternoon UPK (Universal Pre-Kindergarten) class are planned, with a morning half-hour extension available for a fee. Classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Summer camp will not be held this summer as classrooms are reconfigured. Good Shepherd Creative Play states that its goal is to enhance each child's world by building on their potential to imagine, create and participate in a loving environment. The program has been serving Rockland and Bergen Counties for over 55 years. The director is Renee Bucci.
