The Art Effect Arts Camps

About
The Art Effect Arts Camps include fine art, digital media art, and performing arts activities. Campers take part in painting, drawing, music, animation, performance design, puppetry, free art making, and creating both 2-D and 3-D sculptures. Daily schedules include an opening and closing circle, art instruction, open studio time, snack, lunch, and outside play.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–4:00 pm, with 4 one-week sessions at Dutchess Arts Camp – Poughkeepsie and 3 one-week sessions at Ulster Arts Camp – New Paltz
• Price: Early drop-off available for an additional $25/day (no earlier than 8:30 am). Late pick-up available for an additional $25/day (no later than 4:45 pm).
Professional teaching artists work with campers in small groups. The Art Effect’s mission is to empower young people to develop their creative voice, shape their futures, and bring about positive social change through visual and media arts. Past guest artists and partners include Avery Engstrom, Jenna Pyzowski, Mary Haddad, Maya Llanos, Miles Cohen, Morgan Suter, Nia Scott, Paper Heart Puppets, Paul Solomon, The Samuel Dorsky Museum, SUNY New Paltz, The Vanaver Caravan, Zach Reid, and ZOI Productions. Accomplishments are celebrated at a final showcase where each child’s family and friends are invited to see performances, videos, and an art gallery of work created during the week. As a member of the Art Institute, families save an additional 5% on Summer Arts Camps and classes, receive VIP entry to meet with top arts colleges at Hudson Valley Regional Portfolio Day, and get early access to registration for year-round art courses.
