Queensbury Parks & Recreation Programs offers Youth Swim Lessons for ages 3-16, including Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-6 progressions taught by department-trained swim lesson instructors and swim aides under a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. The program also offers Infant/Parent Swim Lessons for ages 6 months to 18 months and Toddler/Parent Swim Lessons for ages 19 months to 36 months, with half-hour parent-and-child classes and guided in-water exploration. Additional offerings include Aquaerobic classes, Adult Lap swimming, Family Recreational Swim, Public swim, and NYS Boater Safety instruction for ages 10-17.

About the provider

The program has nearly 50 years of history and runs year-round aquatic programs for Queensbury and surrounding communities. Staff are trained through American Red Cross training courses, and youth swim lessons are overseen by a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.

The department reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient registration. In the event of inclement weather, programs and/or activities may be cancelled. To withdraw from an activity, participants must notify the Department Office at least 48 hours prior to the start of the program to receive a refund. A cancellation fee of $5 per person, per program will be deducted from the refund.
