Queensbury Parks & Recreation Programs offers a variety of year-round activities, including Pickleball, Adult Softball, Disc Golf, Mountain Biking, Winter Recreation, picnicking, pavilions, playgrounds, recreational swimming, and Gurney Lane swim lessons. The program also includes access to trails, on-the-water activities, athletic courts and fields, and pet-friendly options for dogs unless otherwise indicated. Additional programs include Lil' Kidz Fitness + Fun, February Break Fun, the Family Sweetheart Dance, Kids' Movie Nights, and a 5-Hour Course that is a prerequisite to the road test.

• Schedule: Queensbury Parks & Recreation office hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Recreation Commission meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Gurney Lane Recreation Area - Hansen Center and at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Town Office Building.
• Price: A $3.00 or 3.0% convenience fee is charged for all credit card payments, with the $3.00 or 3.0% fee, whichever is greater based on the transaction total, automatically applied at payment and not refundable; a cancellation fee of $5 per person, per program and a $5.00 refund processing fee are deducted from refunds, and for programs costing over $200 (with the exception of Q-Club), a higher cancellation fee may apply.

The Recreation Commission and the staff of the Department of Parks and Recreation state that they offer a variety of year-round programs, activities, and facilities for Queensbury residents and encourage families to take advantage of these recreational opportunities. The Recreation Commission includes members Fran Cabana (Chairman), Greg Hewlett (Vice Chairman), Wendy Matthews (Secretary), Todd Eicher, Bob Hummel, Amanda Mohr, and John Mossing. Administrative staff include Jennifer Baertschi-France (Director), Gary Crossman (Aquatic Supervisor), Nicole Tamas (Program Assistant, Q-Club Director), Mary Fuller (Office Specialist), and Jonathan Louie (Parks & Facilities Coordinator), and maintenance staff include Foreman James Flansburg and Equipment Operator Jared Bethel. The parks are described as pet-friendly unless otherwise indicated, with a requirement that pets be kept on a leash and cleaned up after. Minutes of previous Recreation Commission meetings are available in the Recreation Commission folder on the Queensbury Documents site, and families can receive a twice-monthly email newsletter for Parks & Recreation news and events, as well as MyRec online notifications for cancellations. Commission meetings are open to public attendance and participation.
