Camp Turner has been in Allegany State Park for more than 100 years and is open year-round. Its cabins are fully weatherized, and it has a modern dining hall that is described as suitable for retreats, reunions, and conferences. The mission statement says the programming encourages the growth of community living skills, self-care skills, interpersonal skills, values, and spirituality, and it lists horseback riding at no extra cost and financial assistance for those with demonstrated financial need among its goals. The staff is described as caring, well-trained, and professional, and there is an on-site registered nurse who may be an NP, PA, or MD, with adult supervision at all times and structured physical, mental, and social activity. Camp Turner is accredited by the American Camp Association, and it welcomes campers ages 7–16 of all faiths. Financial assistance for those with demonstrated financial need is offered through camperships, which are scholarships for families who may need help with registration fees.
