Camp Pendragon is a Summer Theatre Camp that focuses on an introduction to production and an introduction to professional theatre. The program takes place within the larger Pendragon Theatre organization and uses theatre-based activities as its core focus.
• Ages: 12–17 years old
For over 40 years, Pendragon Theatre has been the backbone of Saranac Lake’s theatre scene. Leadership at Pendragon Theatre includes Susan Neal, Bob Pettee, and Julie Harris. The organization states, “We’re not just a theatre in the community; we’re a theatre for the community.” Pendragon Theatre is described as a true community pillar and a reliable source of captivating, envelope-pushing cultural experiences that enrich and engage the entire community. It is the only year-round, professional theatre company in the Adirondacks, and one of its productions won top honors at the International Fringe Festival. Camp Pendragon is part of a broader set of programs that also includes an Arts in Education Tour that exposes hundreds of North Country students to live theatre every year and a Young Playwrights Festival that pairs Pendragon professionals with budding writers.
