Day Camp in the Park

Day Camp in the Park includes Nature and Science Center, Daily Red Cross Instructional Swim, Gymnastics, a Boating Center, Martial Arts, Improv, Drama, Music, Dance, a fully-featured Arcade, a multi-cabin Art Complex, and major sports. Special events include Camp Carnival, Campfire S'mores Fridays, Costume Day, and Camp Play. It offers Nursery for 4-5-year-old boys and girls, and separate Girls and Boys programs for ages 6-13.

Programs

• Nursery — 4-5-year-old boys and girls · 2:1 camper to counselor ratio; schedule tailored to introduce multiple new activities in a safe and fun environment.
• Girls — 6-13 years old · Swim Instruction every morning for girls 6-11 years old; optional instruction for 12-13-year-olds. · Typically one group per grade with approximately 15 girls.
• Boys — 6-13 years old · Swim Instruction every morning for boys 6-11 years old; optional instruction for 12-13-year-olds. · Typically one group per grade with approximately 15 boys.

About the provider

Day Camp in the Park says it has provided summer fun for kids for nearly 50 years, and it says, "since 1979." It has been honored nationally by the American Camp Association, including the Pioneer In Camping Award, the Special Recognition Award, and creating the first Master's program in Camp Leadership & Administration for Camp Directors for the A.C.A.

One counselor per two children in the Nursery Program. Daily Swim Instruction is provided by certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructors in either the heated pool or lake. A hot lunch program is available at a small fee.
