Camp Fun has been providing summer experiences since 1988. The leadership team includes founder and director Menny Schwab, Head Counselor Yoni Miller, and Learning Director and Pioneer Head Rabbi Shimon Margaliot, who is described as one of the star rabbeim at Yeshivas Rabbi Shamshon Rephael Hirsch. Camp Fun is certified by the Department of Health and is a nut-free camp, and parents are asked to specify their child’s allergies on the registration form so the counselor can be made aware. The camp has an onsite EMT available and offers a Fun X-Tended extra hours program to provide a sleepaway camp feeling, a Pioneer Division as an alternative to sports activities, and the Camp Ora Preschool Division for boys ages 2–5 and girls ages 2–9.

Camp Fun states that it focuses on the needs and interests of each camper in a wholesome torahdik environment, stresses sportsmanship and middos, and emphasizes an atmosphere of Torah & Ruach. The program’s mission statement says that staff aim for every camper to feel part of the Camp Fun Family and that the goal is to enhance and nurture the unique personality and interests of every child so they can create cherished summer memories. Camp Fun has campers from YSV, Yeshiva Ktana Ohr Reuven, Beer Yeshaya, Yeshivas Shamshon Rephael Hirsch, ASHAR, Beis Mikrah, and from yeshivas in Monsey, Teaneck, and Riverdale.

Parent feedback includes comments that children “LOVE Camp Fun” and describe the experience as “amazing.” One parent describes a counselor as “more than a counselor to the boys” and “their role model & big brother.” Another parent reports that their boys are “obsessed with Camp Fun” and thank them for sending them, and a parent who was hesitant to send a child without classmates shares that the child already wants to return next year. A parent of a camper named Shua notes that staff greeted him daily with high fives and compliments and says that “every staff member truly went above and beyond,” calling it “Shua’s best summer yet.”
