Athletic Edge Sports Center Gymnastics offers recreational gymnastics classes where participants learn basic gymnastics skills on vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Classes also include time on the tumble track, trampoline, and climbing rope. The program also offers private lessons, birthday parties, Kids Night Out events, and space rental, and the broader center includes gymnastics, cheerleading, and martial arts.

Athletic Edge Sports Center began in September of 2004. The facilities are fully renovated, air conditioned, and upgraded, and the equipment is inspected regularly and kept up to date. The program’s stated goal is to increase children’s confidence and self-esteem through a progression of goal-oriented skills, with personal attention to each child’s individual rate of learning, development, and maturity, and to offer gymnastics, cheerleading, and martial arts in a setting that emphasizes perseverance, pride of accomplishment, discipline, self-confidence, strength, flexibility, body awareness, and a safe and fun learning environment.
The leadership team includes Mary Casale, a former level 10 USAG gymnast who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and coaches USAG level 2–10 gymnasts as well as the Tottenville Girls Gymnastics Team. It also includes Mary Jo Greaves, a former level 10 USAG gymnast who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business and coaches USAG level 2–10 gymnasts and the St. Joseph By the Sea High School Gymnastics Team. Staff members are Safety and Professional Members of USA Gymnastics and hold First Aid and CPR credentials.
Athletic Edge Sports Center is the home gym of Senior International Elite gymnast Olivia Greaves, a member of the US Women’s National Gymnastics Team, who is attending Auburn University and is part of the Auburn Women’s Division 1 Gymnastics Team. Families can try a class for free with no commitment, pressure, or obligation.
