Curriculum implementation across all Academic Explorers centers is overseen by a certified teacher licensed by New York State. The program is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and has been trusted child care for Long Island families since 2017. Academic Explorers describes its C.h.i.l.d. f.i.r.s.t. commitment as focusing on Consistency, Health & Safety, Integrity, Learning, Diversity, Family, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Teamwork. The program states that it is committed to partnering with families and the community on its mission to learn with, love, and lead children to higher education and a brighter future.
Parents describe their experiences with Academic Explorers in several ways. One parent from Roosevelt shared that the program provided the help her child needed to get accustomed to sharing and interacting with other children. A parent from Merrick stated that staff are very understanding of the needs of each individual child, called the child care center “5 star,” and reported having no regrets about enrolling. A parent from Uniondale reported that since starting at 1 year old, their child progressed from diapers to being potty trained, learned to count in English and Spanish, and began using sign language, and that they are proud and happy with what their daughter has learned while attending.
