Camp Barrett is a completely outdoor six-week summer camp that includes outdoor games, arts and crafts, dance, music, playground time, center time, imaginative play, and a wide variety of outdoor games. Campers take part in activities such as an obstacle course, sprinkler fun, Spirit Days, Bounce House Wednesdays, Color War, Carnival Day, the annual Camp Scavenger Hunt, Shaving Cream Wars, and afternoon clubs for campers entering 2nd through 7th grade in the full day program. The program also offers field trips such as mini golf, bowling, Adventureland, attending a movie, roller skating, and visits to the L.I. Aquarium, with field trips included in the Purple Division’s tuition.

Camp Barrett offers innovative and age-appropriate summer programs for children ages 4 (entering Kindergarten) to 14 years of age and is open to Incorporated Village residents and Valley Stream Central High School residents. Campers receive personalized attention from experienced instructors, counselors, activity specialists, and Division Supervisors across seven camp divisions. CITs (Counselors in Training) form a volunteer division that helps on campus with facilitating camp programs while learning foundational workplace skills in a supportive structured work environment. Campers are issued one t-shirt included in their tuition to be worn on off-campus field trips. The summer program is tailored to ensure each camper gets the most out of summer and experiences everything camp has to offer, and Camp Barrett states that it prides itself on providing a summer experience that campers will never forget.
