Meadowmount School of Music focuses on violin, viola, and cello study for rising generations of string players. The program takes place at Meadowmount School of Music and has served as a summer home for these musicians for more than 80 years.
For more than 80 years, Meadowmount School of Music has been described as America’s most respected and beloved summer home for rising generations of violinists, violists, and cellists. The school states that in an ever-changing world, the effort and discipline needed to develop the necessary tools for artistic expression remain constant, and that Meadowmount continues to instill these values in its students. The leadership team includes Emily Heckel as Director of Admissions and Artistic Administration. Meadowmount School of Music has launched a planned giving program in honor of founders Ivan and Judith Galamian and has awarded the Fourth Annual Gurrena Fellowship to violinist Hiu Sing Fan.
Parents and students have shared testimonials about their experiences at Meadowmount School of Music. Jaime Laredo said, “I had three students attend Meadowmount last summer. They loved it and thrived! They are hooked on the Meadowmount School of Music and will return as often as possible. I couldn’t be happier or more appreciative of what Meadowmount has to offer my students.” Former student Huali Dang said, “Most importantly, Meadowmount is a place of wonderful musical growth. Every day, I focused on my practicing.
