Sky Lake Camp & Retreat Center Summer Camp

Sky Lake Camp & Retreat Center Summer Camp takes place at a year-round camp and retreat center that combines rustic charm with comfortable surroundings. The setting includes a picturesque lake, trails that meander through bountiful forests, and over 900 acres of forest, fields, and water. In the summer months, the center operates as a resident Christian summer camp and hosts a Christian youth camp with almost two dozen programs for children and youth completing grades K–12, as well as persons with special needs ages 15–65.

Sky Lake Camp & Retreat Center is one of five camp and retreat centers owned and operated by Church Camp & Retreat Ministries and is able to accommodate up to 75 overnight guests and over 200 day guests in a secluded, sylvan setting. Its year-round facilities are suitable for an intimate week-long retreat or a day-long conference. The program is a ministry of The Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, in collaboration with The Susquehanna Annual Conference. The mission states a focus on growing in relationship with God, being the body of Christ within the world, and living in accordance with the example of Jesus Christ by engaging, equipping, and empowering local churches, encouraging and developing diverse leadership united by love for Christ, and building relationships with neighbors, particularly those disenfranchised by mainstream society, to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with neighbors in all places. The leadership team includes Matt Williams as Director, Jenna Amberge as Assistant Director, Kevin Hester as Food Service Manager, and Lisa Zanker as Housekeeper. Camper and guest feedback includes comments that worship experiences were “awesome,” that the setting was “scenic, peaceful, relaxing,” and that camp “gave” a camper “a lot of self confidence.”
