Akron Fossils & Science Center Youth Programs take place within a facility that includes both Akron Fossils & Science Center and the Creation Education Museum, which has 18 exhibits. The Creation Education Museum explores ideas such as Intelligent Design theory, catastrophism theory, and flood based geology, and many fossils at the center are not in glass cases and can be handled by visitors. The Fossil Replica Making Tour includes making a real take-home replica of a trilobite, and the Animal Adventures Tour includes interaction with a live animal collection. Home education classes are offered for students in grades K–12 and are tailored by age and skill level, Summer Day Camps are offered for children in grades K–6 with weekly themes taught through hands-on activities and projects, and Super Science Saturday is offered as an all-day, once-a-month event for students in K–3rd and 4–7th grades. Programs and activities are offered both on-site and off-site, and visitors can choose among multiple tours and activities and experience both Akron Fossils & Science Center and the Creation Education Museum in one visit.

Akron Fossils & Science Center opened in 2005, and in 2016 part of the museum was separated into the Creation Education Museum. The center was founded by William Sanderson and Dennis Osborn. Akron Fossils & Science Center describes itself as a community of people dedicated to making learning fun and meaningful and states that it exists to provide visitors of all ages with balanced, affordable, and hands-on educational opportunities to explore the science of the world past, present, and future, guided by the belief that the best way to learn science is to experience it. One parent of a birthday party participant stated, “My husband and I wanted to say thank you so much for facilitating such a wonderful birthday party for our son. Everyone had a wonderful time, and it was such a nurturing environment for the kids. You really have a great thing going on there!”
