About
Miracle League of Central Ohio offers baseball along with social, recreational, and developmental activities for its athletes. The program uses a unique baseball field that includes base paths, bases, a batters’ box, a pitcher’s mound, and home plate painted on a cushioned, synthetic surface. The field is fully accessible to athletes who are disabled, including children who are visually impaired, wheelchair- or walker-restricted, or who use any type of mobile device.

The Miracle League of Central Ohio was formed in 2005 with the mission of raising funds to build a unique baseball field for athletes with mental and physical challenges in the Central Ohio area. Opening day was on August 28, 2005. The organization states that it creates lasting memories by providing life-changing experiences for both athletes and adults with special needs through social, recreational, and developmental activities.
The Miracle League of Central Ohio is managed by an all-volunteer Operations Committee. The leadership team includes Joe Fox (League Director), Paula Teeter (Assistant League Director & Registration), Adam Beatrice and Rob Kirkbride (Night League Directors), John Landers (Treasurer), Brian Bell (Rosters), Steve Bayless (Coaches), Megan Temple (Buddies), Rick Guzak (Facilities), Ginger Smetters (Volunteer Recruitment – individual and group), Betty Clark (Publicity & Special Events), Nick Emanuel (Sponsorships), Pam Guggenheim (Insurance), and Molly Brewer Fox (Social Media).
The City of Dublin donated the land required for the Miracle League field. The Miracle League of Central Ohio is run by a hands-on, all-volunteer Operations Committee with a stated passion for serving those with special needs and their community. Volunteers of all ages typically serve as buddies for the players, and the organization states that this teaches them the value of giving back to others and their community. Special thanks are given to an original group of volunteers: Terry Lyden, Matt Breuning, Darla Minamyer, Wally Williams, and Aaron Levensailor, and a big thank you is given to the City of Dublin.
