My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus is led by Artistic Director/Program Manager Steve Roenker and Executive Director Jean St. John. Its mission states that My Nose Turns Red cultivates a supportive environment that inspires youth to challenge themselves, spark creativity, develop essential life skills, and engage audiences through the art of the theatrical clown and the one-ring circus. My Nose Turns Red (MNTR) is the only non-profit organization in the Greater Cincinnati area dedicated to youth circus and provides year-round training and performance opportunities for over 900 youth in the art of the one-ring circus and the theatrical clown. MNTR presents its performance All About Balance and circus performances and workshops to schools and libraries, including past performances at St. James Catholic School, Holy Family Catholic School, Wright Memorial Library, Miami Township Library, and Dayton Metro Libraries. MNTR serves over 900 students annually through after-school programs, year-round classes, and summer camps, and provides free after-school circus classes and summer camps to underserved youth through funding from ArtsWave, the SC Ministry Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Because of donors, MNTR can provide scholarships, host guest coaches, and showcase students across the country, and it states that it builds and maintains a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all participants, employees, volunteers, and audience members feel valued and respected.
