Koinonia Camp & Conference Center offers activities such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, paintball, hiking on wooded trails, and group Frisbee. The program also hosts soccer camps, football camps, and marching band camps.

Koinonia Camp & Conference Center is a ministry dedicated to changing lives. The American Baptist Churches of the Akron Association, Ashtabula Association, and Cleveland Region maintain and promote its programming and facilities for the purpose of sharing and teaching the love of Jesus Christ. Through the use of the outdoor environment and with dedicated leadership, they state a commitment to providing a safe and friendly place for the spiritual, physical, and mental development of youth and adults.
The facility is open year round with the ability to house 125 to 250 people depending on the season. The main lodge has meeting rooms, a fireplace, other amenities, and sleeping space for up to 60 people, and there is a regulation sized athletic field. Visitors find a friendly smile, clean facilities, and food described as wonderful.
The leadership team includes Executive Director Randy Brookes, Equine Director Lori Brookes, Public Relations Director Amie Gillespie, Office Manager/Equine Staff member Geneva Wagenmaker, and Maintenance Manager Doug Beal. Randy Brookes has an undergraduate degree from Taylor University in Christian Education and a Master’s Degree from Ashland Theological Seminary. Lori Brookes has an undergraduate degree in education from Ohio State University, and her Master’s work was done at Mary Grove College. Office Manager/Equine Staff member Geneva Wagenmaker is CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) certified at level 3. Trained facilitators lead groups to a better understanding of leadership, group dynamics, and personal assessment using the natural terrain and many low initiatives.
