Pegasus Farm Therapeutic Equestrian Programs is part of a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center and is accredited by the Certified Horsemanship Association, which sets national standards for group riding programs. All instructors are individually certified by PATH Intl. and by the Certified Horsemanship Association in one or more categories of instruction and at one or more levels of achievement. The mission of Pegasus Farm is to create a community that holistically supports and empowers people with diverse needs through therapeutic equestrian programs, vocational services, and recreational and social activities.

Pegasus Farm was founded in 1986 and opened in the spring of 1986, and over the past 35 years it has purchased land and built a heated indoor arena. It serves over 500 individuals annually, with program participants ranging in age from 3 years to 75 years, and is currently serving individuals from eight different counties. On a weekly basis, more than 200 students participate in therapeutic programming, and applications for new students are taken throughout the year.

Pegasus Farm is one of four therapeutic equestrian centers in Northeast Ohio that are certified as a Premier Center by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International, and it became one of the first facilities to be accredited by PATH International in its first year of operation, maintaining this accreditation at the premier level. It is described as one of the largest, most programmatically diverse therapeutic equestrian centers in the United States. The Take Flight Program offers unique, tailored equestrian activities for individuals facing diverse challenges, and the Wings program offers vocational services with the opportunity for equine-assisted activities for adults with developmental disabilities, including non-medical transportation added in 2013 for those in the Wings program.

The Military and First Responders Center includes one-on-one horse interactions, family events, exercise, and counseling. Pegasus Farm Country Store offers wholesome goods, organic treats, farm-fresh produce, and job training opportunities, and it is managed by Wings participants. The five-acre Wellness Garden features lush produce nurtured by Wings program participants and includes a self-guided tour of the Wellness Garden. An annual gala called “Giddy Up and Give” is hosted at the DoubleTree Canton Downtown on November 8, 2025.
