LifeWise Academy is a nonprofit program that provides Bible education to public school students during school hours. The program offers Bible-based character classes and Bible classes that keep the gospel at the center of the program. All classes are held off site of school premises, and no government funds can be used for this program.
LifeWise is led by trained staff. Joel Penton is the Founder and CEO of LifeWise Academy. LifeWise partners with parents to improve outcomes. LifeWise has been building and refining an innovative ministry approach with an uncompromising commitment to three values: Gospel Centrality, Excellence, and being Community-driven. LifeWise must compete in the marketplace of the many programs and activities surrounding the life of a public school.
LifeWise remains a grassroots movement of local churches and community members stepping up to serve local students. Parental permission is required for a child’s participation. LifeWise is recognized as a top-tier organization by both Guidestar and Charity Navigator for financial stewardship, transparency, and accountability. LifeWise has been awarded a Certified Transparency Seal from Excellence in Giving and a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, and has also successfully completed a fiscal audit by Rea & Associates.
