Lawrence County Early Childhood Academy

Lawrence County Early Childhood Academy offers Early Head Start, Head Start, and child care services, along with home-based home visiting and family child care. The program uses a research-based curriculum approved by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth and provides health and developmental screenings. It also offers services to children with disabilities in a least-restrictive environment and provides nutritious meals.

• Ages: Birth–5 years old

A professionally trained and certified, nurturing staff works with children through comprehensive services from birth to age five. The program includes Early Childhood Education in the Chesapeake, Dawson-Bryant, Ironton, South Point, and Symmes Valley school districts for children ages 3–5 years. It offers Early Head Start for prenatal to 3 years, Head Start for ages 3–5 years, home-based home visiting services for ages 0–5 years, family child care for ages 0–3 years, and center-based child care for ages 6 weeks–5 years. The program includes a focus on kindergarten readiness and family-centered services that emphasize family partnerships. Lawrence County Early Childhood Academy is recognized in the community as a leader in high-quality preschool education and child care and works with community partners.
